It is important to protect yourself online so no one can find out information about you and use it. Also you don't want people to find out where you live because they can use it for lots of different things. To protect myself online, I watch what I put up. I never put my social security number online, and I only give out information about me to trusted sites. I also make all of my stuff online private so not just anyone can look at it. The only experience I have had with online safety is when my dad's identity was stolen. The computer program with our insurance was hacked and they got his information.
